What Makes You Unique? The Phenomena of You!

what makes you unique

The fact that you are even here on this earth is an amazing feat.

Against all odds you are alive; just think of the generations of relatives that had to survive the harshest of circumstances so you could be born.

It’s truly breathtaking.

Scientists estimate the chance that you would be here right now is 1 in 400 trillion!

Now that’s truly a miracle when you think about it.

There are so many things that differentiate us from the animal kingdom – but the distinction that stands out the most is our extraordinary brains.

Humans have been bestowed the gift of thought and reason.

This has enabled you to evolve into YOU.

The Brain Is Truly Amazing!

Thinking is a complex process that involves a number of areas within the brain. Every day we remember facts, problem solve and weight consequences.

In order to perform these functions, separate areas in the brain work together to develop thoughts.

So we are the culmination of the haphazard intake of information picked up as life moves forward. It’s not an organized process and as a result, the good, bad and ugly all become part of how we perceive ourselves and our environment.

As you could imagine, tough childhood situations such as sexual and mental abuse often affect a victim’s sense of self.

Although these circumstances are not the fault of the those who experience them, they can still take a terrible toll.

What Makes You Unique

This is where critical thinking comes to play. Using an open-minded approach to thoughts that involves mitigating emotional responses to evaluate and process incoming information is key.

This is a very important part of developing the phenomena of you.

Far too many people believe they are their thoughts. You actually don’t own them. They are the product of your experiences and environment. Once you embrace this – it’s easier to free yourself from the chains of past experience.

The thing is, when the undisciplined mind takes in information, it’s often biased. Some of it may actually be detrimental to your ultimate well being. So it’s very important for you to take what you need and leave behind what is not beneficial.

What Makes You Unique? The Fact That You Can Change

Learning how to control the flow of information will give you the ultimate freedom to shape who you are

Change occurs in your brain minute-to-minute and day-to-day. Can you believe it was once thought that the brain was quiet during rest?

Nothing could be further from the truth. It is constantly working, processing information and bending. Did you know it’s possible for you to take charge of how information is processed as it’s soaked up in your environment?

It most definitely is… and when you do so, you maximize your potential to live a happy and fulfilled life. So if you are wondering what makes you unique, it’s your ability to change.

The most exciting part is that you can learn to control how you frame all your experiences.
